HELLO, I’M HELEN

Care for others.
Kindness for ourselves.

My journey into mindfulness began with caring for someone I loved.

Where it began.

I have used mindfulness and meditation to overcome my own low mood when I became a full-time carer for my mum. I decided to train as a mindfulness coach so I can share the techniques I used to embed happiness and balance into my life.

I ran mindful groups in various settings and workshops on happiness, stress and anxiety and pain management while I cared for my mum with dementia until she passed peacefully at home.

That time continues to shape the way I work: with warmth, understanding, and space for each person’s experience.

EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPES MY PRACTICE

From lived experience
to shared moments.

I worked in a care home delivering mindful sessions with residents. We experienced guided journeys together, relaxation techniques and pain management.

I then went on to work in the Dementia Wellbeing Service supporting people living with dementia and their loved ones. This deepened my experience of dementia, using breathing techniques to bring relaxation for both the person experiencing distress behaviours and their carers.

A grounding in psychologyI have a degree in Psychology.

Mindfulness teacher trainingI am trained as a mindfulness teacher by the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation. Its teacher training courses are approved by the British Psychological Society.

I’d love to help you find
your way into mindfulness.
